Keith MaxeyKeith Maxey

Director of Music

Keith grew up in Miami, Fl, and started studying piano at age 4. He was actively involved with the music ministry at Grace Lutheran Church throughout his childhood. He went on to get his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in piano performance with studies including organ, sacred music and choral conducting. Keith has worked for churches in Florida, Indiana, Kentucky and North Carolina in both full-time and part-time music and worship capacities for over twenty years. Keith started working at ORUMC in the fall of 2006 as accompanist. In 2009 he became the Director of Music. Keith has a passion for helping to create worship that uses the arts and involves the laity.

Keith and Teresita (Terry) married in 2001 and they have 3 children: Daniel (7), Lucas (5) and Kristina (still a baby....and definitely daddy’s little girl!). Keith really enjoys reading (some favorite authors: the Desert Fathers, Bede Griffiths, Matthew Fox and Anthony De Mello), and when possible, getting away to the mountains and hiking.
