PIZZA STAINS AND HEART CHANGE: Taking it to the Streets!

In about two weeks, our youth will be going to SpiritUs, our annual summer beach retreat.  This marks the fifth straight year that the youth have attended this camp, and each year proves that interest keeps growing.  This year we have 52 participants going on the trip, which makes it the largest overnight retreat that we have done.

I am very excited about this year's camp because for the first time in the history of SpiritUs, there are two mission elements included in the schedule.

On Saturday morning, the youth will be putting together meals through a ministry called Food for the Needy.  We are asking each of our youth to skip 2 and feed 40.  What we mean is for the price of 2 fast food meals, the youth can purchase enough food through Food for the Needy to feed 40 hungry people in other countries.

On Saturday afternoon, the youth will be scattered throughout the Brunswick County area to spread the love of Christ through a variety of mission projects.  These projects include home repair, yard work, local church beautification, food ministry, senior adult ministry, and thrift store sorting.  Our group will be travelling to a community garden in the Wilmington area to help plant, glean, water plants.  The food from this garden goes directly to several different food pantries and homeless shelters in the Wilmington area.

Please join us in the mission projects by praying for these opportunities.  Please pray for the safety of our youth, the ministries that are being helped, and learning spiritual experience of all involved.
