I'm New

Welcome, in Jesus’ Name!  That’s the invitation to you, from the entire congregation of Oak Ridge United Methodist Church.

We are passionate about welcoming visitors and newcomers so they feel loved and accepted just as Jesus loves and accepts us. We seek to provide people with an opportunity to connect to the body of Christ by offering you a place to Begin, Belong, Become followers of Christ.

If you are new to the community or just looking for a new beginning, we hope you will consider becoming part of our church family.

Below is some information to assist newcomers to our church. Please join us this Sunday and we hope you will return to worship with us again soon.

Information Center & Worship Services

You are invited to stop by the Information Center in the Family Life Center or the Guest Station in the Sanctuary lobby for Christian fellowship, campus tour, and information about ORUMC and a Welcome Folder containing information about our church.

Located in the Sanctuary, this is a traditional worship service with hymns from the United Methodist hymnal accompanied by piano, organ and choir, biblical teaching and preaching by our pastors, scripture reading, Holy Communion, intercessory prayer, Affirmation of Faith and a time of offering our gifts to God.

Located in the Family Life Center, this is a contemporary, informal worship service with music of praise and worship led by the CrossWalk Band including multi-media presentations, Bible-based teaching from our pastors, a time of offering our gifts to God, partaking of the Last Supper and a time of prayer.

Located in the Sanctuary, this is an informal style of worship with a blend of hymns and praise music sung by the congregation and choir accompanied by piano, organ, guitar, or other instruments. Our pastors deliver relevant, scripturally based sermons, and we have a children’s message, a time of prayer, an offering of our gifts, and celebration of the Sacraments.

Precious Memories

Located in the Sanctuary, this worship service is for people coping with dementia and other impairments as well as their loved ones and caretakers.  This short 25-minute service focuses on familiar Bible Stories and old gospel tunes.

Fellowship Time

Our Fellowship Time between services is a vital time to visit with friends and make new ones.  You are invited to come by the Cafe for a cup of coffee from 8:30 - 8:55 and 10:00 - 10:30.
