The Christmas Store is a ministry which works to provide struggling families the opportunity to “shop” for Christmas gifts for their children.  Our church partners with 28 other local churches to enable families to “shop” for Christmas, who otherwise could not afford gifts for their children.  This past year the store served approximately 400 families who qualified for emergency assistance at Greensboro Urban Ministry, families of Washington Elementary school students (a Title 1 100% free lunch school), members of the Parents as Teachers Faith Community Network, immigrant students from the Newcomer’s School, families served by the Helping Hands Ministry and Families of students at Hunter School.

The Christmas Store is based on the premise of preserving people’s dignity who are struggling financially by enabling them to shop.  These gifts are a tangible message of Gods love, displayed to the parents who shop at the store and to the children who open gifts.  This ministry provides opportunities to share the gospel, to treat others as Christ has called us to do and for those receiving, to experience God’s love through us.
