Pastor
From my hometown of Marion, Pennsylvania, I came to North Carolina to play baseball at Wingate University and study Business Administration with emphasis in Accounting. I met my wife, Kellie, at Wingate and we were engaged after graduation. While at Wingate, God called me into the ministry to be a pastor. God spoke to me through the scripture verse John 15:5, "I am the vine and you are the branches. If you remain attached to me, you can bear much fruit; but apart from me, you can do nothing."
I went to Duke Divinity and Kellie went to East Carolina University for graduate school in School Counseling. After my first year at Duke, I applied to be a student-pastor. I received an appointment at Lea's Chapel UMC, which is located 5 miles outside Roxboro. I served there for 3 years pastoring the church and going to classes at Duke. After graduation I was appointed to Hawthorne Lane UMC in Charlotte to be an Associate Pastor. My focus was youth and young adult ministry. After 3 years, I was appointed to Troutman 1st UMC to revitalize the church. We did a lot of outreach events for children and youth over the 6 1/2 years. While at Troutman we were blessed with a girl, Mia. She is an answer to prayer for us. Mid-year I received a call to Mt. Holly 1st UMC. God continued to say, "Trust me, I have a plan". So I trusted God and accepted the new appointment. We did a lot of great things over the 5 years I was there at Mt. Holly. In our first year at Mt. Holly we were blessed with another girl, Hannah Faith, who was a miracle baby, but never left the hospital due to medical issues. She lived to be 152 days old. In October of 2021, I received another call to Oak Ridge UMC. I felt God calling me here and I was reminded that I said I would go wherever God calls me to go. I am excited to see what God has in store for the missions and ministries of this church.

Director of Weekday School
Responsibilities: Ensures the Weekday School implements a Developmentally Appropriate curriculum which strives to promote spiritual and academic growth, Ensures the program is maintaining licensing requirements for five star child care center, Hires and oversees Weekday School Staff of 30 plus employees, Oversees daily operations of the Weekday School, Gives tours and enrolls new students into the Weekday School program

Director of Children & Family Ministries
Responsibilities: Chapel with WDS (preschool and school agers), Wednesday Night Program from Kids, Children's Sermons, Discipleship Hour Planning and Teaching,Vacation Bible School, Monthly Family Events, Easter Event, Autumn Event, WDS Summer Camp, Christmas Program with Bev Miller

Director of Youth Ministries
Responsibilities: Oversees Programs for 6th-12th grade youth, Plans and Coordinates Offsite trips for mission, retreat and recreation, Speaks and Teaches during weekly meetings, Counseling/Mentoring students Grade 6-12, Recruiting and Developing program leadership among students and adults, Works with Student and Adult Leadership to plan events and activities, Works with Student and Adult Leadership to revise youth program structure as needed

Facility Manager
Responsible for daily overall management of Facilities including grounds, buildings and equipment, oversee maintenance and repair contracts, develop contract specifications for outside contractors, monitor the safety and cleanliness of interior and exterior areas and developing money saving processes and initiatives

Director of Guest and Volunteer Ministries
Guest Service Responsibilities: welcome guests, follow up communication with guests, update guest database, lead church tours,assist guests with becoming involved in the life of our church
Volunteer Coordinator Responsibilities: prepare the annual ORUMC Leadership packet, recruit/coordinate worship volunteers, raise awareness of volunteer needs, Planning Center Volunteer correspondence.
Worship Arts Responsibilities: Adult Handbells, Youth Handbells, GLOW music (Wednesday Night Children's Worship), Praise Dance/Sign, VBS(music and skits)

Director of Adult Choirs
Responsibilities: Lead choirs in both traditional and special services; direct NPraise/small groups, Provide Accompaniments for both Traditional Services/Rehearsals; Keep Records of Service Music Used; Prepare Choir Music for Rehearsals.

Senior Pastor's Asst. / Scheduling & Membership Coordinator
Responsibilities: Assisting Senior Pastor, Facility & Event Scheduling, Maintains Church-wide Calendar, Door Scheduling (lock and unlock), Employee and Member Badges, Membership Records, Charge Conference Report Coord., Statistical Report Coord., Realm Updates

Director of Finance
Responsibilities: ACS accounting functions - general ledger, balance sheet, payables, receivables, vendor controls, journal entries, account reconciliations, chart of accounts. Financial budgets, reports & analysis. Realm contribution records & reporting. Audit preparation & consultation. Financial Liaison for Outreach Ministries. Weekday School Human Resources Liaison.

Ministry Support
Responsibilities: Greets and assists visitors, Answers phone, Feed & Seed reservations, Creates purchase orders for invoices, Responsible for bus keys and office supply orders. Performs other administrative duties as needed

Congregational Nurse, Volunteer Staff
Responsibilities: To be a part of the Cone Health Congregational Nurse Program I must maintain an active nursing license, maintain required continuing education units (at least one related to Faith-based nursing), maintain an up-to-date CPR certification, maintain liability insurance, participate in at least one community care event annually for underserved, keep my TB and Flu shot up to date, attend an annual skills lab at Cone Health,

Parish Nurse, Volunteer Staff
Responsibilities: Maintaining an Active RN License, CPR and ACLS Certifications, Obtain Flu Shot Annually, Support Community Care Events and Health Fairs within ORUMC, Submit Reports to Cone Health Congregational Nursing Department, and most importantly, Partner with Congregants to Provide Support (by way of prayer, information, visits).

Praise Band Director
Jessie grew up in Summerfield, NC. She attended NW Guilford High and continued on to Montreat College where she received her degree in Elementary Education. She is currently a full time teacher at South End Elementary in Reidsville, where she lives with her husband and four children.
